This policy applies to all paid plans on https://smcterminal.com. Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record; Paddle's own buyer terms also apply to every purchase.
1. Cancelling
- You can cancel at any time: open your account page and click Manage billing, which opens Paddle's customer portal.
- Cancelling stops all future charges. Your access continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and nothing further is billed.
- You can also cancel by emailing support@smcterminal.com from the address on your account.
2. No refunds on payments made
SMC Terminal is a digital service that is delivered in full the moment you subscribe, so payments already made are not refundable, whether for the first period or a renewal, and whatever the plan or billing interval. If the service isn't what you expected, cancel as described above: you keep access for the period you paid for and are not charged again.
We encourage you to use the free preview of the terminal before subscribing, and to choose the monthly plan first if you are unsure.
3. The exceptions
We will refund a payment in these cases, in full, to the original payment method:
- Charged in error — for example you cancelled before the renewal date and were still billed, or you were billed twice for the same period. Tell us within 30 days of the charge.
- The service was unavailable for a substantial part of a billing period because of a fault on our side.
- A feature that was a material part of your plan is withdrawn — the unused part of the current period, as set out in the Terms of Service.
- Where the law of the country you live in gives you a right to a refund that cannot be excluded by this policy.
4. Upgrades and downgrades
Moving between Pro and Pro+, or between billing intervals, is handled through Manage billing. An upgrade takes effect immediately and is charged pro rata by Paddle; a downgrade takes effect at the next renewal. Neither creates a refund of the current period.
5. How a refund is paid, when one applies
- Refunds go to the original payment method; we cannot refund to a different card or account.
- Paddle issues the refund within a few business days of our approval; your bank or card issuer may take a further 5–10 business days to show it.
- Refunds cover the amount paid, including any tax Paddle collected on it. Currency conversion differences charged by your bank are outside our control.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank. A chargeback filed for a charge that falls under this policy, or for a charge already refunded, may lead to the account being closed.
7. Complimentary access and promotions
Free, trial or complimentary access has no cash value and is not refundable. Promotional prices follow the same rules as any other plan.
